Horse riding
At Cora´s House and Horses we offer high quality riding tours. Every rider, beginner, intermediate or advanced should be able to find a very well trained horse here that will make their riding trip with us unforgettable. On our farm we have about 30 horses for all kinds of riders as well as training horses, young horses and breeding mares with foals.

Please note: Since we are a very small, family run business it is important to book your trip early enough in advance so we can make sure the date and time you want is available.
Please remember that you need to wash and disinfect all of your riding clothes before coming to Iceland. Used leather gear may not be brought into the country.

In the price list we refer to the riding time. Please have in mind that the whole adventure takes about 30 minutes more. All trips are guided trips. We provide riding helmets, gloves and rain gear.
Prices for riding per person are as follows, all price include Vat and fees.

The riding trips start at our farm Bjarnastaðir which is located in beautiful Ölfus South Iceland. We offer riding trips both for experiencend riders as well as guests with no riding experience. Nearly everybody can book a horseback ride with us, you do not need to be a guest at Cora´s House and Horses, but you should be in good physical condition and not be weigh more than 90 kg/198 lbs. We don´t have fixed times for the tours and each tour can be customized which means that we can adjust the time and the length to your wishes. If you have special ideas, just ask and we will find a way to make it possible.
The shorter trips either go on the top of the mountain behind our farm with a great view over the Ölfus area or along lava fields with sight on volcanos such as Hekla and Eyjafjallajökull. Trips longer than 1h or 2 h usually go to the river delta and lava fields. The day tours can go to the river delta or to the beach.
We operate our tours all year around, in summer as well as in winter so you can take a trip with us no matter at what time of the year you visit Iceland. In winter our tours have a maximum duration of 2 hours.
We have been doing short riding tours from 1 hour up to 5 hours from 2018 on. Since 2020 we as well have a riding school for local people, especially for kids. We as well train horses. All horse activities on the horsefarm Bjarnastaðir Ölfusi are under the lead of Cora J. Claas, which gratuated from Hólar University in the North of Iceland in 2009 after 3 years of studying as a young horse trainer, horse trainer and riding teacher. Cora has worked with icelandic horses since 1999, mainly on Iceland, but also in Germany and Denmark.
